Updates – Seattle Force
January 14, 2021
Seattle Force has officially been retired from the track. He ends his career with a record of 25 runs, 6 wins and 8 places.
January 11, 2021
He returns to racing this Tuesday 12 January after a relatively long spell of rest. A slight concern going into this race, is the breathing noise he has been making during some of his prep work at home and that could adversely affect his performances going forward. With this being his first run back after a rest, he will most certainly need the run and we will be using this outing as a gauge on how to address his breathing issue.

After a disappointing campaign in KZN, Seattle Force has returned to Stuart Pettigrews Randjiesfontein stable. He enjoyed his spell away from racing and has freshened up nicely. Seen below, cantering this morning.
May 18th, 2020
He seems to be getting better and better. He is doing exceptionally well at the moment and is about as ready as he can possibly be for his next test. We can’t wait to see him back. Here he is on the turf at Summerveld this morning.
April 9th, 2020
Seattle Force was stretching out nicely in a grass gallop at Summerveld this morning. Khanya Sakayi worked him and was most impressed with the way he moved up the hill. He is down to run in The Sledgehammer (Listed) on Sunday 19th April over 1750m, at Hollywoodbets Scottsville.
March 22nd, 2020
Nice run by Seattle Force in the Kings Cup (Listed) today. He finished just 0.80 lengths off the winner, in 4th place, over a trip far short of his best.
November 14th, 2019
New kit arrived at the Hollywoodbets sponsored Stuart Pettigrew stable. Modeled here by Seattle Force – doesn’t he look smart!
November 12th, 2019
151 – Seattle Force, a regular feature on the highlights wall, makes it another commanding victory in the 6th race at Turffontein (Inside) today, a MR 104 Handicap over 1800m. He makes it 6 wins from 17 starts and as an early 4-year old, the future looks bright. He is now unbeaten in 4 outings on the inside track and he proved that the 1600 – 1800m range is his preferred trip. Well done to trainer Stuart Pettigrew for getting him this far, he looked absolutely spectacular in the parade and canter past. A peach of a ride by the ultra-professional Marco van Rensburg and well done to breeders Varsfontein Stud.
November 11th, 2019
He is back in the 6th race tomorrow 12 November 2019, on the Turffontein inside track, where he is unbeaten in three starts to date. He was way below his best last time out, when stepping up to the 2400m in sticky conditions. As such, we have decided to drop him back in trip, where he should enjoy the increased tempo throughout the race. This was evident in his penultimate start, where he seemed to settle a lot better over the mile.
Over 1800m this time, he returns to his preferred inside track and he’ll be looking to take up the early lead from a decent draw. With the shorter run in, he will be looking to give his customary kick at the top of the straight and he should be tough to get past. He presents a good each way chance and we expect him to just about win this.

October 8th, 2019
Seattle Force, as expected, showed the field a clean pair of heels at the top of the straight, to win the 4th Race on the Turffontein inside course today. That takes his career record to 5 wins from 15 starts. Well done to trainer Stuart Pettigrew, jockey Marco van Rensburg and breeders Varsfontein Stud. That’s a great start to his summer campaign.
October 7th, 2019
The big galloping son of Mambo In Seattle returns after a 10 week break, to the course where he has picked up two wins from two starts. That’s on Tuesday 8th October 2019. He’s flourished since that last start, a sign that he has really enjoyed his holiday and his grass work leading into this race is indicative of exactly that. Although the mile may be a touch on the sharp side, he’ll be looking to show the field a clean set of heels at the top of the straight and he’ll be tough to catch.

Seattle Force confirms his ability and lands the hat-trick of wins, to win the 7th Race at Turffontein today. A remarkable achievement to win over 1800m, after smashing his opposition over 2600m and 2000m prior to this. Well done to trainer Stuart Pettigrew, jockey Diego De Gouveia and breeder Varsfontein Stud.
May 2nd, 2019
Another win makes it back to back victories for Seattle Force and he takes his career record to 10 runs – 3 wins – 3 places. It doesn’t look like he is stopping here after an emphatic win over the 2000m at the Vaal. He skipped clear at the top of the straight and it was always clear that he would outstay this field, given the chance. He is certainly an exciting future prospect for the syndicate. Another solid ride by Diego De Gouveia and well done to trainer Stuart Pettigrew as well as the breeder, Varsfontein Stud.

4 wins in 14 days for the Hollywood Syndicate! Seattle Force flies to victory in the 4th race at Turffontein, winning by 2 lengths! A nice win by this son of Mambo In Seattle over his first real stamina test of 2600m. Surprisingly for such a big horse, he showed an encouraging turn of foot on the tight Turffontein inside track and once he skipped clear of the field it was always going to be tough to catch him. He has a huge economical stride and it looks as if he will love the longer galloping courses, here on the Highveld. Trained by Stuart Pettigrew and ridden to victory by Diego De Gouveia. Bred by Varsfontein Stud. SP of 11/2.
11th February, 2019
We have made the decision to move Seattle Force to Gauteng, where he has joined up with the Stuart Pettigrew stable. The stable is synonymous with conditioning staying types of horses, so the decision was an easy one. We feel that he will be better suited to the galloping tracks in Gauteng and look forward to seeing him thrive in his new environment.
