Raced over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville in the Listed Kings Cup. Anthony Delpech post-race comment: Ran a gusty race. The pace of the race was too slow for him and I feel that could have made the difference from winning.

277 – SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI makes it a double for the Syndicate at Hollywoodbets Scottsville today. He took a steep rise in class, but showed guts to win the Non-Black Type WSB Club Prive Fever Tree Stakes. The son of Var was ridden to victory by Warren Kennedy and is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Alyson Wright. Well done to the breeders Mr and Mrs C de Vos.

Raced over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the turf. Anthony Delpech post-race comment: He ran on strongly just to be denied by a head. I feel he is learning to relax better in the race and holding his form well. The slow run race is maybe what beat him as the leader got away from him.

Raced over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the turf. Anthony Delpech post-race comment: It was a great comeback run and he is definitely a better horse on the turf. It should not be too long before he wins again.

He raced in a Conditional Novice race over 1100m on the polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville this afternoon. He is much better than the effort suggests and should return to best form in the near future.

June 12th, 2021
He was far from disgraced when finishing fourth in the Non-Black Type Rising Sun Durban Dash. He did over race in the early stages, but stayed on nicely at the finish. Once learning to settle, he should be a decent type. See the replay here.

Shampompo Shampizi in his box before his race this weekend on Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge Raceday. He is well heading into the race and should give another good account of himself.

April 9th, 2020
This son of Var has taken every challenge in his stride. He seems to be one of the better 2-year olds we managed to purchase last year. Being out of the Victory Moon mare, Light The Moon, he should be quite progressive. Seen in the pink cap nearest the camera, at Summerveld this morning – 9 April 2020.

August 24th, 2019
He has shown a tremendous amount of ability in the short time he has spent on the farm. Everything he does, seems to be easy for him and his relaxed temperament is another important asset to his bow. The team at Leckhampton have have labelled him a horse to get excited about, so watch this space for further updates.

June 12th, 2019
Purchased in late April, he has settled in well at Leckhampton Valley Spelling and Pre Training ever since. Here he will be broken in before he starts with some light track work. A recent update from the team looking after him:

“Moon’s Up is a good looking colt who still has a significant amount of growing to do. His good attitude should prove helpful with his work going forward.”
