Name Meaning: I have a saying in Afrikaans that I normally use to try and get new punters that reads as “Hollywood maak jou lewe soet.” Translated to English it reads as “Hollywood makes your life sweet.” Stroopsoet is an Afrikaans word that means as sweet as syrup, i.e. very sweet and can be applied to either food or behavior. So for example you can say: “This koeksister is stroopsoet” meaning, this weird South African treat has a ton of sugar in it or “I am stroopsoet” meaning: I am super “well-behaved”, wink-wink, nudge-nudge.

Anthony Delpech post-race comment: She showed a lot of speed early, but then stopped badly. It was her first run, and the trainer said she would be in need of the run. The big problem is that she is very temperamental.
