A filly who has shown quite a lot at home, she now steps out for her debut having impressed in her recent grass work leading in to this test. With the draw on her side, the yard have opted to start her off in a 1400m and despite the fact that she still needs to strengthen up she should give a useful account of herself first up.

He showed good improvement when stepping up to the 1400m last time, under a solid ride by Sean Veale who retains the ride here. Due to the limited options over the same trip, we have decided to take our chances in this slightly shorter 1200m handicap. The slight concern is that he seems to have lost his early speed and the expected steady tempo will make things tougher this time around. However, he has notched up a solid record on the poly and with some luck in running he may find himself picking up some minor money here.

Since picking up his maiden win in April last year, his ever diminishing merit rating has made finding the right race a lot tougher than we had ever anticipated. He has just scraped in to this handicap but lands a wide draw which will make this test even tougher. With that said, Richard Fourie takes the mount and with some luck in running the pair have the right credentials to find the places in what appears to be a very modest field.

Having just left the maidens when staying on strongly over the 1200m, he now comes in to his handicap debut over a slightly shorter trip and it is encouraging to see Lyle Hewitson retain the ride. He is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for more, especially off his current mark of 70. From a plum draw, we’ll be looking to see him go right into contention once again and a top 4 finish can be expected.
