Hollywoodbets Greyville

Race 1 – 11:40
1200m – www.tabgold.co.za Maiden Plate (3 Year Old Fillies)

7 – Purple Moon’s Up
Trainer: Alyson Wright
Jockey: Lyle Hewitson
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 7 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 10/1

A well put together What A Winter filly, she has been coming along nicely leading up to this debut performance. She does still need to strengthen up so the benefit of this outing will do her the world of good and bring her on nicely for her next start.

Winning Form Comment: Sister to: GYPSY WOMAN 4f ( 5: 1, 1). What A Winter filly.

13 – Sihamba Sonke
Trainer: Duncan Howells
Jockey: Reserve Runner
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: *
Predicted Betting: 20/1

She had a bit of a setback earlier on this year when picking up a severe virus which required intensive care to help her pull through. She has since made a 100% recovery and we are excited to see her kick off her career if she does get a run here. Going on her work at home, she gives the impression that she will be looking for a mile plus.

Winning Form Comment: Querari filly.

Race 2 – 12:15
1600m – Covid-19 Helpline 0800 029 999 Maiden Plate

2 – Ibutho
Trainer: Alyson Wright
Jockey: Lyle Hewitson
Wgt: 57.0kg
Draw: 2 (14 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 12/1

After two modest efforts there seems to be some uncertainty around his preferred trip. He is bred to go a mile and further, hence the decision to opt for this 1600m. Lyle Hewitson takes the mount from a plum draw and we’ll be looking for some improvement now. If he doesn’t shape this time, the option to drop him back into sprints is still on the table and may be required.

Winning Form Comment: Brother to: EMERALD BAND 4g ( 7: 3, 3). Two moderate efforts but can improve over the extra 200m. Respect with Hewitson up.

Race 7 – 15:10
1400m – Follow Gold Circle On Facebook Merit Rated 97 Hcp (F&M)

4 – Travelling Light
Trainer: Garth Puller
Jockey: Lyle Hewitson
Wgt: 58.5kg
Draw: 4 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 7/1

She is a high class filly who has shown glimpses of performing at feature level and she seems to be getting better with time. Having only contested over the sprints, she now attempts a 1400m for the first time ever on the back of a big effort over 1000m last time, and all the signs are prevalent that she is going to relish the extra ground. Lyle Hewitson takes the mount from a very useful draw and we’ll be looking for a very big performance here. We’ll be looking for a top 3 finish.

Winning Form Comment: Runner-up in latest behind a fair sprinter. Chance if enjoys seven furlongs.

Race 9 – 16:25
1200m – Hollywoodbets Bright Future Merit Rated 78 Handicap

5 – Agent Murphy
Trainer: Alyson Wright
Jockey: Ashton Arries
Wgt: 59.0kg
Draw: 5 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 12/1

After pulling up lame after his most recent start where he found the winners enclosure, he was given some time off and now returns for his first run after that forced absence. Ashton Arries takes the mount from gate 5 and we’ll be hoping for a top half finish first up.

Winning Form Comment: Rested 26 wks. Best MR:83. Just won latest. Returns from a break. Follow.

13 – White Cedar
Trainer: Cliffie Miller
Jockey: Reserve Runner
Wgt: 57.0kg
Draw: *
Predicted Betting: 16/1

He went desperately close to winning last time, when staying on strongly from a handy position. That was over the 1400m and he now drops back to a trip that is perhaps short of his best. Being the first reserve we’ll need one of the carded runners to be withdrawn and if he does get a run he should give a useful account of himself. With that said, the 1200m might be a touch sharp for him at this stage of his career.

Winning Form Comment: Ex Wright A J-2020.06.01. 3rd run after rest. Best MR:79. Dictated terms well in latest when pipped, chance.
