Thursday 8th October 2020
Vaal Classic

Race 2 – 12:10
1450m – All To Come Maiden Plate

12 – Purple Magic
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Calvin Habib
Wgt: 58.0kg
Draw: 3 (13 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 25/1

He drops back in trip after a fair performance last time out when stepping up to the mile and he has scope for big improvement over this 1450m trip now. Calvin Habib retains the ride and with a very useful draw on his side he should have a nice place chance.

Winning Form Comment: Well beaten in latest when tested over a mile. Drops in trip and can place.

Race 4 – 13:10
1450m – Bettingworld.bet MR 80 Handicap

9 – Ramchandani Road (Pictured)
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Calvin Habib
Wgt: 55.0kg
Draw: 3 (10 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 5/1

After a solid post maiden third last time out the form of that race has been franked in a big way, with the winner of that race (Nourbese) subsequently winning the Golden Horseshoe (Gr2) and finishing runner up in the Premiers Champion Stakes (Gr1). He steps up to the 1450m now and with the expected scope for further improvement he should give a very good account of himself here.

Despite the fact that he’ll just need this, he is drawn well and we’ll be expecting to see him finish in the first four places.

Winning Form Comment: Rested 13 wks. 3rd in latest behind a talented sort. First run in a handicap, respect.

Race 6 – 14:25
1000m – Computaform Online Pinnacle Stakes

7 – Calvary
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Cole F Dicken (-2.0kg)
Wgt: 50.0kg
Draw: 7 (9 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 20/1

He has shown some decent improvement in his last two starts since being moved to Gauteng and he now lines up on favourable terms in this 1000m dash. Apprentice Cole Dicken takes the mount and with the 2,5kg claim off his back, this son of Querari shoulders a very handy galloping weight which should bring him right into contention.

Despite the rise in class, he is a 1000m specialist and we’ll be expecting a good performance here.

Winning Form Comment: Ex Kotzen G S-2020.07.04. Best MR:99. 1000m specialist. Respect with light weight.

9 – Look To The Sky
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Jeffrey Syster (-2.0kg)
Wgt: 50.0kg
Draw: 4 (9 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 33/1

He has gone off the boil of late and his temperament issues seem to be his biggest downfall. With that in mind, his time is running out as it appears that he has lost interest in racing altogether. As such, this will be his last chance and if he doesn’t show some sort of improvement we’ll more than likely call it a day with him.

Winning Form Comment: 3rd run after rest. Pacifiers ON. Best MR:102. Poor form, others look stronger.
