He gave a decent account of himself on debut and the run has brought him on quite a bit. Lyle Hewitson sticks with the ride and the stable feel that he is going to relish the extra 200m this time around. From a similar draw he will be looking to settle closer to the leading line and with the expected improvement he should go a lot closer to winning this time.

After that unfortunate incident in her penultimate start when she was forced onto the rail, she didn’t quite show in that comeback run due to her being in desperate need of the outing. She was outpaced on that occasion and she now steps up to a trip where she is expected to be far more competitive. Ashton Arries has been doing all the work on her at home and he takes the mount from pole position here. She may still need the run, but we’ll be expecting to see big improvement from this daughter of Oratorio.

Being the third reserve it is unlikely that he will get a run here, but he has come on from that comeback run he had a few weeks ago and if he is lucky enough to take part in this race we’ll be expecting to see big improvement.
Winning Form Comment: 2nd run after rest. Best MR:83. Won on this surface in penultimate run. Up in class, but can place.

After a disappointing comeback run in early June when blowing the start, she went slightly unsound and has taken some time to get back to herself. She has started to show some good work at home and despite the plum draw she will still just need the run. With that said, we’ll be looking to see her finish in the first half of the field.

Against our better judgement, she found the 1800m a touch too far when having her handicap debut last time out. She has since changed stables and reverts to a trip where she is yet to be unplaced from 3 attempts. From a reasonable draw she gets the services of Marco van Rensburg and we’ll be expecting a useful effort against this class of opposition.
