1000m – Download TabGold Information App Merit Rated 65 Hcp (F&M)

4 – Hollywood Thunder
Trainer: Cliffie Miller
Jockey: Calvin Habib
Wgt: 59.5kg
Draw: 4 (11 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 10/1

She has her first run in the province for her new stable, after making her way up from PE. Cliffie Miller has opted to revert to the minimum trip where she appears to be at her best and despite facing some trickier opposition, we will be hoping for an improved effort following that disappointing run over the mile last time.

Winning Form Comment: Ex Smith G D-2020.08.03. 2nd run after rest. Best MR:66. First run for new stable. Likes this distance, consider.

Race 6 – 14:20
1600m – Soccer Any15 Merit Rated 70 Handicap

7 – Alphamikefoxtrot
Trainer: Darryl Moore
Jockey: Lyle Hewitson
Wgt: 56.0kg
Draw: 7 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 5/1

He seems to be in a good place at the moment and this step up to the mile couldn’t have come at a better time. Lyle Hewitson makes for an attractive jockey booking and he will be looking to settle just behind the early leading line. With a significant drop in class here, he will be running on strongly in the closing stages and we give him a solid each way chance.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR:66. All four wins have come on the poly. Fair latest at this rating.

9 – White Cedar
Trainer: Cliffie Miller
Jockey: Marco van Rensburg
Wgt: 61.0kg
Draw: 9 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 4/1

He went very close to winning last time out, when setting the early speed before staying on strongly in the closing stages. The step up to the mile should suit and despite the wide draw, he should relish the slightly more sedate gallop. With this being a significant drop in class, he should be very competitive here.

Winning Form Comment: Ex Wright A J-2020.06.01. 3rd run after rest. Best MR:79. Dictated terms well in latest when pipped, can make amends.

2 – Storm Ruler
Trainer: Cliffie Miller
Jockey: Marco van Rensburg
Wgt: 56.5kg
Draw: 2 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 12/1

He has slipped to a very competitive rating and finds a much improved draw after that decent effort last time out. A fit horse, he gets the services of Marco van Rensburg this time around and there appears to be a lot in his favour on paper. With 2 wins from 7 attempts over this course and distance, he should be one of the leading contenders at the business end.

Winning Form Comment: Ex Wright A J-2020.07.27. Blinkers ON. Best MR:71. Two-time c&d winner.

5 – Mighty Smart
Trainer: Paul Lafferty
Jockey: Denis Schwarz
Wgt: 57.0kg
Draw: 5 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 12/1

He showed some useful improvement last time out, when finishing second behind a horse that was well set up to win. Off a mark of 66, he looks well handicapped at this level and there are little concerns about his fitness coming into this race. Denis Schwarz takes the mount and from a very handy draw he too should go right into contention for the winners enclosure.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR:82. 1.5kgs better off with number 7 on latest, go close.

8 – Bhakka
Trainer: Darryl Moore
Jockey: Luke Ferraris
Wgt: 59.5kg
Predicted Betting: 12/1

He returns to the same course and distance as his penultimate run, when he gave a very good account of himself against similar opposition. From a slightly improved draw here, he gets the services of the in form Luke Ferraris and we’ll be expecting another promising effort from this son of Wylie Hall. The tempo is expected to be a reasonable one and that will play right into his hands. With the above in mind, he rounds up a solid three way coupling for the Hollywood Syndicate.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR:74. Fair penultimate run over this c&d. Respect with Ferraris in the irons.

Race 8 – 15:35
1200m – Gold Circle Podcast MR 62 Hcp

9 – Jerry The Juggler
Trainer: Cliffie Miller
Jockey: Marco van Rensburg
Wgt: 59.0kg
Draw: 9 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 4/1

After a smart effort last time out when he was touched off into second place from a rather tricky draw, he returns to the same course and distance and finds a slightly improved draw here. Marco van Rensburg takes the mount this time around and with this being his second run after a rest, he should just about find the winners enclosure.

Winning Form Comment: Ex Wright A J-2020.02.02. 2nd run after rest. Best MR:75. Eye-catching comeback run for new stable, chance.
