Unfortunately it was noted that she was 1/5 lame this morning (15th May), having aggravated a pectoral muscle. Without wanting to aggravate it any further, she has been withdrawn from today’s 5th race. Although not a serious injury, the Physio will provide her with the required treatment before she resumes her program.

Winning Form Comment: SCRATCHED

Race 8 – 16:30
1200m – Maiden Plate

14 – Simply Russian
Trainer: Garth Puller
Jockey: Lyle Hewitson
Wgt: 57.0kg
Draw: 7( 16)
Predicted Betting: 5/2

She hasn’t missed the places in her two starts to date, finishing 3rd on both occasions. Her last start was particularly encouraging, when she found herself in last place 200m from home before flashing up late with a strong finish to land in the 3rd box. That run came over the Scottsville 1000m, in the mud no less.  This time around she steps up to the 1200m, which she is going to love. She is bred to eventually go a mile, but for now she looks hard to oppose over this extra furlong. We give her a good winning chance with Hewitson up.

Winning Form Comment: Placed in both runs and well related.

1000m – Maiden Juvenile Plate

1 – Blow Me Down
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Calvin Habib
Wgt: 60.0kg

Predicted Betting: 20/1

He has been working well leading up to his debut run here. We haven’t pushed him yet, but he put up a nice grass gallop a few weeks back and although he may still need this he should make a positive account of himself.
