Hollywood Thunder was retired by the Hollywood Syndicate on 16 November 2020. She had 15 starts for 1 win and 6 places.

After a modest handicap debut, we have opted to move her back to KZN to join up with the Cliffie Miller stable where she will hopefully have more chance of finding the right opposition to feature against.
She has settled in well and should be accepted for a run in the next 2 weeks.

After 5 second place finishes in a row Hollywood Thunder finally goes one better to find the winners enclosure, albeit by the smallest of margins. Well done to MJ Byleveld for a perfectly judged ride, the Gavin Smith stable and breeders Klawervlei Stud.

It’s another 2nd place finish for this filly. She showed her usual speed in the early parts and just ran out of steam in the closing stages, despite staying on well for 2nd.

Another nice effort by this filly today. She is clearly relishing the reduced trip and the blinkers seem to be working well. She runs again this coming Monday 30 December 2019, over 1200m and she should be involved in the finish once again.

A much improved performance this time, over the reduced trip. Beaten by just 0.75 lengths, we seem to have found her optimum trip and she would’ve learned a lot from that run.

She has put on some nice condition and we are very happy with the way she is coming along. She has been nominated for her debut run on 22 April 2019 and if all goes to plan she should run a nice race. The picture below is of her at work this morning.

Hollywood Thunder is coming along nicely and has strengthened up well over the past 4 weeks. She is on the far side in this clip, doing some steady work with a companion.

Her coat has turned now and she has started to progress nicely. We estimate a debut around the end of the first quarter of 2019.

She is settling well into her new surroundings and Gavin will be stepping up her work shortly. Her coat hasn’t quite turned yet, but as soon as it does, she will start to really run the corner.
