He didn’t run well last time and we know he is certainly better than that effort would suggest. He has been working well since then and he seems to be in a good place at the moment. If he is back to his best, he should be one of the main dangers to the stable elect in this race, Phinda Mzala.

He is an ultra-consistent sort and has found some deadly form over the 1000m trip. He comes into this event against some hard-knocking older handicappers and with Warren Kennedy retaining the ride, he’ll be one of the leading contenders to gain top honours here. We make him the one to beat.
Winning Form Comment: Best MR:87. Just pipped in latest under Kennedy and can make amends.
7 – Blow Me Down

He has tended to take a bit of a hold over the 1200m of late and thus the stable have opted to drop him back to the 1000m trip, where a quicker tempo should allow him to settle a lot better. He has come from off the pace in both of his career wins so far and with the early speed expected to be a frantic one, he should be able to show big improvement. With that said, we feel that at this stage he’ll have is work cut out as far as beating the top selection (Phinda Mzala) is concerned, but he can find the first 5 places.

He finds quite a competitive handicap to compete against and his rating may still be a touch on the high side for him to win at this level. With that said, he is fresh, well and has plenty of speed. If things go his way, he should have the credentials to finish in the top 4 or 5.
