He raced over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon. He showed good speed and stayed on nicely to finish third. He is carded to race on the Turffontein Inside course over 1000m, next week Thursday. He gets the services of a 4kgs claiming apprentice and must be followed.

He did it the hard way to win his maiden. The son of Vercingetorix raced awkwardly and almost missed the turn, but he dug down deep to stay on in the closing stages. Well done to Jason Gates for getting the job done, the entire Clinton Binda team and breeders Maine Chance Farms.

Back in Gauteng after that disappointing effort last time out, when making his course debut on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Poly. That was just his second start and he was clearly green under the lights. He lines up in the 1st race at the Vaal, on Tuesday 24th December 2019.
