Predicted Betting: 16/1

He returns from a 25-week break and is having his first run for the Mike de Kock stable. The 2200m is a distance short of his best and he is expected to be in need of this outing. The run will bring him on for future races.

Winning Form Comment: Ex Tarry S G-2023.01.07. Rested 25 wks. Best MR:103. Stays well. Chance if fit.

Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 9 (14 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 20/1

He is awkwardly drawn in barrier nine, but does have good early gate speed and should find himself in a nice position early. He made up ground well in his last start and has progressed nicely since that outing. We can look forward to a positive showing from him.

Winning Form Comment: 3rd run after rest. Fair latest behind number 13. Has peak run and chance if settles.

Wgt: 55.0kg
Draw: 3 (18 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 40/1

She is doing very well at home. Obviously this is a big step up in class for her and she will have to run to her new rating. The stable are very happy with her preparation heading into this race and she jumps from a good draw of three. If she can continue to make the improvement that she has been, then a positive run is expected.

Winning Form Comment: 3rd run after rest. Best MR:117. Ultra-consistent. Good prep coming into this race and has claims.

Race 8 – 16:50
1600m – Ridgemont Garden Province Stakes (Grade 1)

Trainer: Candice Bass-Robinson
Jockey: Sean Veale
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 9 (14 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 33/1

A line can be put through her last outing as she did not have the best preparation heading into the race and she had to overcome the widest draw. She is doing really nicely at home and her work has been good. It is a competitive field and it is not going to be easy. We are hoping that she can finish in the money.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR:107. Was drawn wide in moderate latest. Won penultimate over a mile and has claims.

Race 9 – 17:30
1200m – Post Merchants (Grade 2)

10 – Iphiko
Breeding: Trippi (USA) – Valor Red by Western Winter (USA)
Trainer: Mike de Kock
Jockey: Athandiwe Mgudlwa
Wgt: 53.5kg
Draw: 10 (14 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 8/1

She has taken her last two runs extremely well and she is in a very good space. The 1200m around the turn could be better for her, compared to 1200m down the straight. We are hoping that she can get close to the front early and a positive run is expected.

Winning Form Comment: 3rd run after rest. Best MR:109. Good third-place finish against males last time. Has peak run.

Race 9 – 17:30
1200m – Post Merchants (Grade 2)

13 – Full Velocity
Breeding: Philanthropist (USA) – Circle Of Speed (AUS) by Sebring (AUS)
Trainer: Sean Tarry
Jockey: S’manga Khumalo
Wgt: 53.5kg
Draw: 13 (14 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 25/1

She ran a fair race in the Grade 1 Golden Horse Sprint last time and maintains her well-being. It is a very strong field, but she comes into this race well-weighted. The obvious concern is her wide draw, but she is a filly that can run on strongly.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR:113. Won only attempt on this course. Can upset.

Race 10 – 18:10
1600m – Compendium Insurance Brokers Handicap (Listed)

8 – Platinum Sky
Breeding: Silvano (GER) – Princess Royal by Captain Al
Trainer: Dean Kannemeyer
Jockey: Craig Zackey
Wgt: 55.5kg
Draw: 8 (15 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 20/1

He returns from a 16-week break and is having his first run for the Dean Kannemeyer stable. His work has been good and he is striding out freely. It is a competitive handicap and this will be a good test for him. All is in order with him and we are hoping for a positive effort.

Winning Form Comment: Ex Tarry SG-2023.03.11. Rested 16 wks. Best MR:104. Stable debut. Place chance if fit.

Race 11 – 18:50
1600m – Brentford FC – MR 86 Handicap (F & M)

5 – Asiye Phambili
Breeding: What A Winter – Cast A Spell by Rambo Dancer (CAN)
Trainer: Duncan Howells
Jockey: Sean Veale
Wgt: 60.5kg
Draw: 5 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 6/1

She produced a very good effort in her stable debut over 1400m on the turf last time. She has come on since the outing and she is a much fitter horse now. From her handy draw of five, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Winning Form Comment: Ex Tarry SG-2023.01.28. 2nd run after rest. Best MR:89. Good first run for Howells camp. Chance.

Race 11 – 18:50
1600m – Brentford FC – MR 86 Handicap (F & M)

9 – Zinikele
Breeding: Gimmethegreenlight (AUS) – Furina by Parade Leader (USA)
Trainer: Gareth van Zyl
Jockey: Athandiwe Mgudlwa
Wgt: 59.0kg
Draw: 9 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 25/2

She is back on the polytrack now which seems to be her favourite surface. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is doing well at home and with a bit of luck in running, she can go close to winning.

Winning Form Comment: 3rd run after rest. Best MR:86. Won only C&D attempt and should be cherry-ripe. Can feature.

Race 12 – 19:30
1400m – Gagasi FM – MR 88 Handicap

6 – Tirpitz
Breeding: Silvano (GER) – Exotic (IRE) by Galileo (IRE)
Trainer: Brett Crawford
Jockey: Kabelo Matsunyane
Wgt: 58.0kg
Draw: 6 (12 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 9/2

He is in great form at home and the stable are very happy with his work. The obvious concern is that this will be his first effort on the polytrack, but the stable feel that he shouldn’t have an issue with the surface. On the strength of his work, he is expected to be competitive.

Winning Form Comment: Best MR:84. Has been racing well with cheekpieces. Merits healthy respect.
