Mighty Smart put up a game effort last time out (pictured), at just his third time of asking. We expected the improvement as there was never any doubt about his need for more ground and he duly obliged with a good effort to finish a neck behind the winner, in second place. He had a wide draw to overcome in that run, but with his natural gate speed he was able to bounce out of the stalls and find a handy position without having to be used up in the early parts. He has another tricky draw to overcome this time (9), but should be able to repeat his last start and we expect to see him near the front once again. He is going to absolutely relish the extra 150m this outing offers and considering that he has come on a lot from that most recent effort, he looks a very tough horse to beat. We give him a very good win chance in a modest field. Final Field below.
