It was an exceptionally good effort by this talented son of What A Winter today. He just needed a lead horse to pull him into the straight, but nevertheless gave the eventual winner plenty of cheek in the dying stages of the race. See the replay here.

It was a great experience to have Brian Baloyi on course with the team today, to shout home this horse he named Spydas Corner. We were also lucky enough to get a few snaps at stables, prior to the run. Despite being a little green on debut, he will make big improvement in his next few outings and he should find the winners enclosure soon.

A smallish colt at the time of sale, he has really matured into a smart looking colt. He has been in full training for just over 10 weeks now and we are starting to see quite a lot of class about this son of What A Winter. We should expect to see him debut towards the end of April.

A recent visit to Sue Peters’ spelling farm, to see this son of What A Winter and it’s great to see him progressing well. He will spend a few more weeks on the farm before joining up with Duncan Howells at Ashburton. See below, a recent photo of him on the farm.
