The son of Erupt is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Gary Rich and is bred by Maine Chance Farms and Jagessar Ltd. Yannakis was named by Tyson Heffer. 505 – AFROPOLITAN shares the spoils with Ancient World in a dead-heat and gives the Hollywood Syndicate a double at Hollywoodbets Greyville this afternoon. Apprentice James Lihaba set his own fractions up front over 1800m and Afropolitan showed great determination all the way to the line. He is now a five-time winner. 504 – GRIFFIN PARK gives Hollywoodbets-sponsored Trainer MJ Odendaal his first winner for the Hollywood Syndicate on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack this afternoon. He showed good speed under Sean Veale over 1200m and he kept finding all the way to the line. Well done to the breeders Drakenstein Stud who bred the son of Querari. 498 – KING OF SPIN brings up the Hollywood Syndicate’s 50th winner for the 2023/2024 season. He tracked the leader under Luyolo Mxothwa and dug down deep to notch up his first career victory over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The son of Canford Cliffs is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Brett Crawford and is bred by Ridgemont. Well done to Brand Ambassador Keshav Maharaj who named King Of Spin. 497 – IBUTHO wins Race 3 over 1400m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack this afternoon. He quickened up well under a confident ride by Sporting Post-sponsored Jockey Athandiwe Mgudlwa and won with a ton in hand. The son of Duke Of Marmalade was trained to perfection by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Alyson Wright and he is now a six-time winner. Well done to the breeders Lammerskraal Stud. L’Ormarins King’s Plate Day – A day of “oh so close” at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth for the L’Ormarins King’s Plate!
Isivunguvungu got caught by Thunderstruck on the line in the Winchester Cup Sprint, but our champion will have enjoyed the run after a 5-month absence. The goal turns to the Cape Flyers on WSB Met Day. Asiye Phambili ran a blinder under Piere Strydom, finishing her race flying, and earning some black type by finishing 2nd in the Gr2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes. Shantastic also ran superbly finishing 4th, just 1.65 behind the winner, in a distance which is atleast 2 furlong short of her preferred distance. Then in the Gr 1 Cartier Paddock Stakes, Happy Chance ran an incredible race, finishing a 0.60 length 3rd to the WSB Fillies Guineas winner Beach Bomb, and just behind the horse of the year Princess Calla. All three fillies will now look to a big Met Day! In other races, Danielle Rivallend rode Wissa’s On Fire in the Okapi International Ladies Race, finishing 5th. It was his first run in the Cape, and he will strip fitter next time. Anfield’s Rocket ran 8th in the L’Ormarins Kings Plate, just 3.10 lengths behind the 2nd place finisher See It Again. He nows turns to the WSB Met, and could be anything on the big day! Black Thorn hit the front at the 400m in the Gr3 Glorious Goodwood Chairmans Cup, but may have gone a touch early as he got picked up by the flying home Future Swing. But a much improved run after a disappointing showing on Betway Summer Cup day.

496 – ZIYASHA wins Race 6 over 1000m at Turffontein with ease. He showed good speed under apprentice Siyanda Sosibo and kept finding to notch up his fourth-career victory. The son of Rafeef is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Clinton Binda and is bred by Ridgemont.

2nd – IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA put up a valiant effort in the Listed Christmas Handicap at Hollywoodbets Greyville today, in the very soft ground with the featuring rain. He finished 1.10 lengths behind the winner Formagear, and just in-front of the race favourite Cape Eagle. This Ridgemont bred gelding by Dynasty was ridden by Athandiwe Mgudlwa, and is trained by Gareth van Zyl. He will be one to watch this year.
