494 – KUPHOLIWE gives the Syndicate a double at Hollywoodbets Greyville today by winning Race 7 over 1200m. Two winners from two runners. Winning Form-sponsored Jockey Richard Fourie set his own fractions up front and he held on where it matters most. 493 – PATANTS HEIR wins Race 2 at Hollywoodbets Greyville with ease. She tracked the leader, quickened up well at the top of the straight and won with ease. The daughter of William Longsword was ridden to victory by Sporting Post-sponsored Jockey Athandiwe Mgudlwa and is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Gareth van Zyl. 492 – METAR ran on strongly to win her local debut in the Eastern Cape over 1400m at Fairview Racecourse. The daughter of Soft Falling Rain was given a perfect ride by S’manga Khumalo and she is now a three-time winner. She is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Gavin Smith and is bred by Ridgemont. 2nd – EVENTIDOR finishes 2nd on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack, unable to catch Laudato over 1700m. An extra 100m and he would have got the win. A really strong run by this son of Elusive Fort.

491 – TIRPITZ got the upper hand late to win Race 6 over 1400m at Turffontein Racecourse this afternoon. He was ridden to victory by Winning Form-sponsored Jockey Kabelo Matsunyane and is now a three-time winner. The son of Silvano is trained by Brett Crawford and he was bred by Ridgemont. 2nd – HAPPY CHANCE is unable to hold her lead in a tight finish, falling 2nd to Saartjie in the SplashOut Victress Stakes (Grade 3) at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas day. A really impressive run from this daughter of Dynasty.

He showed good speed under Winning Form-sponsored Jockey Richard Fourie and despite racing very green, he quickened away from the field. He raced from a prominent position under apprentice James Lihaba and showed good determination to put his nose down where it matters most. The son of Soft Falling Rain is now a four-time winner. He is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Gareth van Zyl and is bred by Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein.

486 – THE SHEPHERD wins Race 2 over 1400m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack this afternoon. He was sent to the front under Muzi Yeni and kept finding to hold all challengers at bay. The son of Captain Of All is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Peter Muscutt and is bred by Klawervlei Stud. The Shepherd was named by Stephen Marshall from Gold Circle. The Shepherd is a nickname given to Steve, relating to the way he has guided many friends to the finish line at Comrades. Steve has also been instrumental in the relationship between Hollywoodbets and Gold Circle.
SALES – The Hollywood Syndicate purchased three horses today on the BSA December Online Auction, the last auction for 2023. We look forward to their careers under the Hollywood flag!
485 – DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN showed good speed to win Race 5 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville this afternoon. The son of Visionaire is now a three-time winner and was ridden to victory by Winning Form-sponsored Jockey Richard Fourie. He is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Clinton Binda and is bred by Lammerskraal Stud.

NEWS – The Willie Mullins-trained GUST OF WIND lost his life in a tragic post-race story to the WillowWarm Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Saturday. The four-year-old gelding was sent off the 11/10 favourite for the race but fell at the third last hurdle when travelling well in the hands of Paul Townend. Gust of Wind had to put down from his injuries suffered in the race. The horse was owned by Hollywood Syndicate and Barnane Stud, having been bought after making a debut at Auteuil in France. He ran in last season’s Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival when he finished a gallant fourth of the fifteen runners. Read more.
