GC: Kevin your yard has got the interesting runner SUNNY BILL DU-TOY in the Daily News 2000. How's he doing?
KW: He's doing very well. He's obviously just run. He is a very fit horse. The runs have come too close together. One meeting was added, and he we chucked him into that, he drew well and it worked, and he won. And then the guys mentioned maybe the Daily News, so we thought well, if he can't win another race, he's not worth running in it. We put him in, he won! But obviously everything is very close together.
GC: Off that merit rating (81) do you think he is out of his depth or not?
KW: No I don't. I think he's a horse on the up. I think we are short on a month work-wise, but he's got a good draw. The draw swayed us to run him. We pre-entered him, he drew very well. He's got a champion jockey on his back. Obviously we don't have to do any work with him, we just bring him into the race. He's a very fit horse, and we've got nothing to lose.
GC: Do you think Sunny Bill Du-Toy could play a part in getting Flichty By Far into the Vodacom Durban July? If he runs well, he could knock some of the horses out of the Durban July log.
Whatever he beats home certainly won't get into the July. Whatever runs out of the first three won't run in the July. They've got a lot to lose and we've got nothing to lose! This will be Sunny Bill's last run for the season, and he'll wait for next season.
