After another winner this week with Jerry The Juggler exiting the maidens in just his second course appearance, we have a few useful representatives taking to the course in their respective provinces this weekend. Whiteleaf Hills lines up in PE, looking to find the winners box on Friday 12th April 2019. Blessed Rain (pictured) appears to be a big runner in the opener at Turffontein on Saturday and Setablaze can go close in the 4th race at the same center.

Things haven’t gone his way in his last two starts whereby he had a horrid draw to overcome in his penultimate start and ran on late. Then in his next effort the pace was a dull one and he hated it. He jumps from gate 1 today and that may just be a sign of a change of fortunes for him. He is doing exceptionally well and if things go in his favour in terms of a decent pace and a bit of luck in running, he wouldn’t be a surprise winner.
Winning Form Comment: Drawn pole and can threaten if settles in the running.
Saturday 13th April 2019
Turffontein Racecourse
Race 1 – 12:00
1160m – Juvenile Plate (Fillies)
6 – Blessed Rain
Trainer: Stuart Pettigrew
Jockey: Diego De Gouveia
Wgt: 55.0kg
Draw: 3(9)
Predicted Betting: 4/1
She put an encouraging debut as was expected and was probably a touch on the green side, which may have dampened her chances of winning on that occasion. She has really come on a lot from that run and on her pedigree and the signs she has showed us thus far, she is going to be a massive runner over this trip. With the weight turn around in her favour, she looks a very big runner.
Winning Form Comment: Has scope for improvement on promising debut.
Race 4 – 13:40
1400m – Maiden Plate
2 – Setablaze
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Kabelo Matsunyane
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 9(20)
Predicted Betting: 7/1
He has shown up well in his last three starts and looks to be knocking on the door for an exit out of the maidens. He steps back up to the 1400m and will suit him down to the ground. He has a slightly tricky draw to overcome, but with a bit of luck in running he should give a good account of himself.
Winning Form Comment: Fair form, more needed to win it.
