Upcoming Weekend Runners at Greyville on Friday night 19th April 2019 & Sunday 21st April 2019

After another successful week with White Cedar winning at Greyville on Wednesday 17th April 2019, we have two runners to look forward to this weekend. Winters Calling (pictured as a yearling) makes his course debut for a barrier trial at Greyville on Friday night, 19th April 2019. Then on Sunday 21st April 2019, Simply Russian looks to follow up that good third on debut with a big run in the 3rd race. See more about her chances here.

Friday 19th April 2019
Greyville Poly Track

Race 11 – 16:50
1000m Barrier Trial

8 – Winters Calling
Trainer: Alyson Wright
Jockey: Tristan Godden
Wgt: 57.0kg
Draw: 1(10)

Makes his course debut in this barrier trial. He is an athletic son of What A Winter, purchased at the 2018 National Yearling Sale. He isn’t 100% tuned up just yet, but we believe he has a bit more ability than another What A Winter colt of ours, by the name of Agent Murphy. Coincidently, he is closely related to one of our recent winners, Jerry The Juggler. With that said, he will need the experience and it should bring him on nicely for his official debut in a few weeks.

Sunday 21st April 2019
Scottsville Racecourse

 Race 3 – 14:05
1000m – Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies)

9 – Simply Russian
Trainer: Garth Puller
Jockey: Serino Moodley
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 8(10)
Predicted Betting: 4/1

She put up a smart debut as we had expected and if not for her being very green in running, she would’ve gone a lot closer. She has come on nicely from that run and now tries the Scottsville 1000m, where we can expect her to go very close to winning. She looks like a nice each way proposition.

Winning Form Comment: 3rd in debut when just in front of 1, has plenty scope.
