Sunday 28th October 2018
Greyville Polytrack

12 – Seventh Son
Race 2 – 14:15
1200m – MR 72 Handicap
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Warren Kennedy
Wgt: 52.5kg
Predicted Odds: 25/1

An unfortunate chain of events led to him being scratched last Sunday after a false start was called. He is a big headstrong individual and this rendered it impossible for young Kabelo Matsuyane to pull him up after the stall gates opened and the false start called. Warren Kennedy is an older, stronger jockey who should be able to manage him effectively and he is riding at the top of his game at the moment. We gave Seventh Son a decent chance last weekend over the 1000m and he should enjoy this 1200m on the Poly. He faces a decent field of hard knockers and a few 3 year olds who look to be on the up. With this in mind, we would advise punters to follow him with caution. He jumps from a good draw (3) and if he isn’t too head strong, he could have a nice place chance at big odds.

Winning Form Comment: Form of last start was franked.

8 – Whiteleaf Hills
Race 5 – 16:00
2000m – MR 63 Handicap
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Keagan De Melo
Wgt: 54kg
Predicted Odds: 10/1

Depending on how he takes his run on Friday, he will be a doubtful starter come Sunday.

Winning Form Comment: Course and distance suited, race could be run to suit him.

Fairview Turf

4 – Hot Curry
Race 6 – 15:05
1600m – MR 73 Handicap
Trainer: Gavin Smith
Jockey: Sandile Khathi
Wgt: 58.5kg
Predicted Odds: 25/1

He had a poor local debut on the Poly a few weeks back and will be better suited to the Turf track. He does have his issues and we are hoping that he has put those in the past and makes significant improvement this time around. We aren’t going to tip him this time of asking as he will be looking for a bit further, but we will be looking for signs of improvement as time is running out for him.

Winning Form Comment: Poor local debut but the switch to the grass will help.
