Sunday – 09 December 2018
Greyville Turf Course

Race 10 – 12:25
1000m – Barrier Trial

2 – Jerry The Juggler
Trainer: Alyson Wright
Jockey: Stuart Randolph
Wgt: 59.0
Draw: 3

He s a very smart son of Master of my Fate and this first appearance has been a long time coming. A bump, a snotty nose, a cough here and there – these have all been minor niggles that he has had to shake off in the last few months which has delayed his course debut. His work at home suggests that he is above average, but we will just be looking for a decent showing in this trial. Stuart Randolph should be able to provide some sound feedback as to where we are with him, although we shouldn’t be too far away from an official race debut.

Race 1 – 13:00
1400m – Maiden Plate

11 – White Cedar
Trainer: Alyson Wright
Jockey: Craig Zackey
Wgt: 59.0
Draw: 10
Current Odds: 5/1

His gelding in March this year really seemed to do him the world of good, as it was really the beginning of him turning the corner. He has shaped into a nice leggy gelding, with plenty of muscle and his strength showed in his first outing where he ran on nicely over the last 300m, despite some interference at the top of the straight. That form line has held up nicely with the second placed Tierra Del Fuego winning his follow up start. The other five subsequent runners out of the same form line have all failed to miss the places, which adds to the strength of that particular race. With that said, we give him a decent win chance and we’d be surprised to see him miss the first 3 places.

Winning Form Comment: Fair debut at long odds, runner up won since, tries the grass.

Race 2 – 13:35
1600m – Maiden Plate

10 – Uncle Charlie

Trainer: Garth Puller
Jockey: Anton Marcus
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 10
Current Odds: 12/10

The gelding has also done this horse wonders – as a colt he started to get quite muscular and heavy in front and gelding him became a formality, as a result. Since then he has turned into a great looking specimen. He found a flood of outside support last time out and in the end was an unlucky loser, considering the jockey had his crop in the wrong hand. As such he moved inwards, looking for the company of the horse in front before challenging strongly all the way to the line. Considering that promising performance, we have been very keen for a follow up run but the draws have just not been on our side.  He has drawn wide again, but with the field cutting down to just 10 runners we decided to take our chances and hopefully some luck prevails this time around. Anton Marcus takes the ride and he is more than capable of turning a wide draw into a good one. One just has to be reminded of his ride on Cirillo two weeks back, from a very wide draw at the Kenilworth winter course. Should he get over from the draw, we give him a good win and place chance.

Winning Form Comment: 2nd run after a rest. Gelded 2018/08/13. Promising second run when fancied, respect.
