Seattle Force to line up in the Concorde Cup, Gr2 over 1600m

After running a solid race last Sunday 11th November, we have decided to give him his toughest test to date. Seattle Force will line up in small, but competitive field of 3 year old colts next Saturday 24th November. See the final field below.

It was a very encouraging run this time around, considering how he seemed to travel a lot more fluently throughout. Keagan De Melo’s post race comments were equally encouraging: “He was a bit unlucky at the top of the straight, where the stable companion seemed to falter in front of us. As a result, he had to check inwards and this cost him a bit of early momentum. He is a very nice horse.” Keagan has already committed to riding stable companion Herodotus, so we have employed the very capable Craig Zackey for this outing.

We still feel that his main target for the season will be the Cape Derby Gr1, after he lines up in the Derby Trial on Queens Plate day. This race is commonly known as the Politician Stakes and is a Grade 3 event for three year olds, over 1800m. We also believe that we’ll see the best of him on the Summer Course at Kenilworth, over more ground. With that in mind he was only beaten by 1,55 lengths on Sunday, behind a quality sort in the form of Hudoo Magic. As such, we feel he is more than capable of a big performance in this sort of company.
