September 28th, 2023
466 – CAPSAICIN showed great determination to win Race 7 over 1600m at the Vaal Racecourse this afternoon. Jockey Philasande Mxoli set his own fractions and the son of Canford Cliffs fought back well to notch up his second career victory. He is trained by Mike and Adam Azzie and is bred by Ridgemont.

465 – YOU DESERVE IT wins a good race over 1600m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack this afternoon. Winning Form-sponsored jockey Kabelo Matsunyane set his own fractions in front and she found more to bring up her fifth career victory. The daughter of Pathfork is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Gary Rich and is bred by Ridgemont.

464 – SONG OF MYSELF wins going away in Race 3 over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville this afternoon. Fellow Syndicate runner, Qhawekazi was doing her best work late to give the Syndicate the exacta. The daughter of Canford Cliffs was ridden to victory by Aldo Domeyer and is trained by Candice Bass-Robinson. She is bred by Ridgemont.

463 – WHIRLYBIRD wins Race 2 over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course this afternoon. She was ridden to victory by apprentice Siyanda Sosibo and is trained Hollywoodbets-sponsored Clinton Binda. The daughter of Canford Cliffs was bred by Ridgemont.

462 – IQEMBULABESIFAZANE wins a good race over 1300m on the Fairview polytrack this afternoon. She was given a confident ride by Muzi Yeni and is now a two-time winner. She is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Gavin Smith and is bred by Mr Rick Achmat.

461 – ASIYE PHAMBILI wins Race 7 over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville with ease. She tracked the leader around the turn, quickened up smartly and was geared down under Sean Veale. The daughter of What A Winter is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Duncan Howells and is bred by Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud.

460 – SYX HOTFIX closes off the meeting at Hollywoodbets Greyville over 1600m this afternoon. He was given a well-timed ride by jockey Muzi Yeni and is now a six-time winner. The son of Flower Alley is trained by Hollywoodbets-sponsored Alyson Wright and is bred by Moutonshoek.

459 – The Hollywood Syndicate brought up its 11th winner for the season today with TROIS TROIS QUATRE blowing away his opposition by 5.50 lengths at Turffontein over 1800m. The son of Rafeef was ridden to victory by JP van der Merwe, trained by Mike de Kock, and bred by Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein. This victory brought up the geldings third win in a row, and we will be hoping there are many more to come.

AWARDS – The 2022/23 season was a watershed one for the Hollywood Syndicate, where we shed our Grade 1 maiden tag, and broke our personal record for most wins in a season, with 124 victories.
