Updates – Purple Merchant
July 11th, 2021
She was returning from a 12-week break today and showed signs of needing the outing over a distance short of her best. She is better suited to 1200m and she should show signs of returning to form in her next start.
April 21st, 2021
She has lost her form in her last three starts, but is better than the efforts suggest. She is still lightly raced and she has plenty of scope to return to best form.
April 5th, 2021
She met a competitive field today and still showed signs of needing the run. She will come on from the run and should be worth following next time.
February 4th, 2021
Purple Merchant, the unbeaten daughter of Trippi, is starting to get going again. Here she is having a steady canter this morning and clearly enjoying her workout.
November 12th, 2020
Purple Merchant makes it two out of two, when winning the 7th race at Hollywoodbets Greyville today. Well done to Alyson Wright, Lyle Hewitson for a polished ride and breeder Ms M Patterson.
October 11th, 2020
Purple Merchant wins the 2nd race at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse under a solid ride by Lyle Hewitson today. She was expected to be green on debut, but stayed on nicely to win in commanding fashion, at a SP of 16/1. She looks like a talented filly in the making and must be one for the notebooks.
August 1, 2020
She has matured nicely over the past 8 months and should just about be ready for a grass gallop. That will give us a better indication as to how ready she is for a debut run. At this stage we are very happy with her progress.

with the fall of the hammer, she is now under the ownership of the Hollywood Syndicate. A fill that is sure to take a bit of time, she will be sent back to Lammerskraal before she is transported up to KZN’s Summerveld. We estimate an entry into full training around March 2020.
