INDOMAVEL was purchased by the Hollywood Syndicate at the 2019 Klawervlei Farm Sale. She is a filly by Pomodoro, out of the National Emblem mare Russian Foxtrot. A half-sister to Simply Russian who is also owned by the Syndicate, she was bred by Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud.

In comparison to her half sister, Simply Russian, she had quite a bit more scope to grow into a quality filly. Much deeper in her girth and being an early November foal, she will have all the time she needs to mature, before coming into full training. She is the half-sister to black-type winners RIKITIKITANA and Rockin Russian.

255 – INDOMAVEL wins the first race at Fairview Racecourse over 1000m. It was her first start in the Eastern Cape for trainer Alan Greeff. She showed good speed under a confident ride by Greg Cheyne to shed her maiden tag.

Raced over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the turf. Anthony Delpech post-race comment: She over raced with the blinkers on for the first time. Anton Marcus said that we should put her over 1400m or 1600m as it should suit her better and remove the blinkers.

She took her place in a 1400m contest on the polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville this afternoon. She raced from a handy position, but did not go on with the effort finishing 3.45 lengths behind the winner. She is better than that effort and should return to best form soon. See the replay here.

Despite not being the biggest filly around, she has really come into her own over the past few months. A nicely balanced filly, she will run as a late 2 year old / early 3 year old. Pictured at track this morning, third in line.

She hasn’t quite grown as much as we had hoped, although she was never going to be a big filly. With that said, she oozes quality. She will be on the farm for another 6-8 weeks and hopefully she fulls out a bit more.
