Alphamikefoxtrot finally got what he deserved on Friday night, winning his 23rd attempt at the maidens. The son of Var was led into the winners enclosure by an ecstatic Hollywood Team in the 8th and final race. It was also the Syndicates’ second winner in as many days. See more here.

It was a brave ride by bright young apprentice Kabelo Matsunyane, giving Alphamikefoxtrot the confidence he needed to get through an ever diminishing gap at the 200m mark on Friday night. Landing the Syndicate in the winners box a day after Seventh Son notched up a quick double for the connections, it has been a fantastic start to the weekend for the Hollywood Syndicate.
Well done to trainer Clinton Binda, for a brilliant training feat in getting this horse to finally win his maiden at the 23rd time of asking. Making the bold move of travelling down to KZN from the Highveld is not an easy one on horse or trainer, for that matter. It has been an exceptionally patient project with this horse culminating in a most rewarding feeling of watching him bravely put his head down when it mattered most.
