1 – On the 13th March 2002, the Hollywood Syndicate recorded their first ever winner when SPLENDID NIGHT won at Greyville Racecourse. The horse was ridden to victory by jockey Sean Cormack, and trained by Paul Lafferty. Matthew “Magic” Lips was the nominee for the Syndicate at the time. The interview is done by Deez Dayanand with the late Clyde Becker, who was the manager for the Hollywoodbets Park branch in Springfield Park, Durban, as well as one of the Hollywoodbets customers Vishnu Kistnasamy.
This colt Splendid Night would go onto have 7 wins and 17 places from 39 outings, with his last run coming on 16th November 2004.
