UPDATES – Mighty Mashona

January 11th, 2021
Update from Peter Muscutt: Mighty Mashona gained a lot in confidence since his last start second place finish. He galloped impressively this morning and based on that his maiden win is not far off. He is scheduled to run on 24/1/22 in a maiden 1600 at Scottsville.

Raced over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the turf. Anthony Delpech post-race comment: Much improved run. He should go on and win a race.

Raced over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the turf.
Anthony Delpech post-race comment: He was given no chance from the jockey dropping him out of the race and then said he never ran on. If you fight a horse in the early part of the race, how do you expect him to run on.  I have asked Peter Muscutt to come back to a 1600m and to ride the horse forward the next time he runs.

Peter Muscutt: Mighty Mashona has show no real improvement with gelding. He settled beautifully and should have run on despite being a long way out of his ground. He has the “piggy” Master Of My Fate attitude and doesn’t want to pass horses – an extremely bad trace in a racehorse. We will probably drop him back to a mile and try and lead to see if that brings about any positives.

The son of Master Of My Fate had to overcome a wide draw of thirteen over 1400m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville turf. He was settled near the rear of the field and finished his race off strongly. He still has a lot of scope and there should be plenty more to come. See the replay here.

September 8th, 2021
He took his place in a 1400m race on the polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He tried the cheek pieces this afternoon and was a tad disappointing. He is still learning about racing and still has plenty of scope. See the replay here.

August 12th, 2021
The son of Master Of My Fate made his racing debut over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the polytrack. The manner in which he stayed on in the closing stages was encouraging. He will come on with the run under his belt and he looks to have ability. He is a horse worth following in the future. See the replay here.
