Updates – Candy Galore

September 22nd, 2021
Candy Galore has been officially retired from racing. Her last run was on the 19th September 2021. She ends her career with a record of 27 runs, 4 wins, and 14 places.

June 19th, 2021
She ran a good race over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville over 1000m against the males. The manner in which she ran on to finish fourth was encouraging. She is in a good space and should have another win in the tank. See the replay here.

May 23rd, 2021
She ran a good race when finishing third behind Spydas Corner. She carried a big mass of 62.5kgs against males and was far from disgraced. There is definitely another win in the tank for the daughter of Noordhoek Flyer. See the replay here.

April 4th, 2021
She took on much stronger in the Listed Kwa-Zulu Natal Stakes this afternoon. She showed good speed, but may have been outclassed in the latter stages. She will be back to fight another day and when taking on her own division, she will go close.

March 17th, 2021
So close! An unlucky loser considering she was caught in the shadow of the post. On the plus side, she gave another solid account of herself to earn a stake cheque and one gets the feeling that she should win soon. See the replay here.

February 14th, 2021
It was a courageous performance by this filly today, beaten by just 2.70 lengths in the end and against some strong opposition. On current form, she should find the winners enclosure soon.

August 5, 2020
A seriously speedy mare, she makes it a winning debut in the Hollywood Syndicate silks when winning the 8th race at Hollywoodbets Scottsville today. It was an armchair ride for Warren Kennedy, who did everything by the book. Well done to trainer Gareth van Zyl and breeders Wilgebosdrift. This win was made even more special for the Hollywood Syndicate who also owns the runner up, Travelling Light.
