Updates – Jerry The Juggler
June 24th, 2021
Jerry The Juggler has officially been retired from the race track. He ends his career with a record of 12 runs, 1 win and 2 places. He was trained first by Alyson Wright, and then by Cliffie Miller.
February 8th, 2021
He has been relatively lightly raced in his career so far and now that he has dropped to a mark of 57, we have decided to give him one more change of scenery to see if that draws another win out of him. The signs are certainly there that he has the ability to win again, so hopefully it isn’t long before he finds his best form.
October 30th, 2019
Decent run today, but we are going a little further next time. Despite the female line in his family producing pure speed, that is exactly what he seems to be missing and he will now be stepping up to a 7-8 furlong trip next time. See the replay of today’s run here:
October 28th, 2019
After two modest comeback runs, he steps out for his peak run after a rest this Wednesday 30th October 2019. He has dropped 5-points in the Merit Ratings since his last start, which as expected, he still needed badly. He now has his third run after a rest and he will strip a lot fitter this time, as he drops significantly in class for his peak run back. Drawn 4, the 1.5kg claiming Jason Gates takes the mount and he knows him very well – being his regular work rider at home.
He returns to the poly where he won his maiden three starts back and that run came over the same 1000m trip. He will be lengths better than his last two starts and looks a nice place bet, with an outside win chance. Final Field below:

Clearly still in need of the run, Jerry The Juggler was always going to battle with the steady tail wind, from well off the pace. He did make some late headway, but we expect to see his Merit Rating start to drop to a more forgiving mark. See the replay of his run here:

He desperately needed that comeback run, after a stint on the farm and despite strengthening up a lot since then, he will still need this outing. From gate 13, he will be dropped put and we expect to see him running on. With that said, this will give us a good indication of where we are with his prep and he should be cherry-ripe for a winning chance next time. See the replay of his last start below, as well as the final field for his next outing – on Sunday 13th October 2019.

Jerry The Juggler returns this Sunday the 1st September 2019. He has a useful draw to launch his challenge from and Athandiwe Mgudlwa will be seeking an early rails run from a relatively handy position. Based on the strength of the field and the fact that he isn’t a hundred percent tuned up for this run, we expect him to finish in the first four places and give him an outside winning chance. See the final field below.

He won a nice race last time out, but just went a little shin-sore. He is spending some time off at the farm, where he will get some well-deserved rest. At first glance, it appears that he is lightly raced, but he has had loads of hiccups leading up to his debut. That meant that he has been ticking over for many months and he should realize his scope in the next few weeks, while he spends time being a horse.

A convincing winner of Race 1 at Greyville Racecourse today, JERRY THE JUGGLER gets the job done. Well done to Trainer Alyson Wright, Jockey Lyle Hewitson and Lammerskraal Stud for breeding this smashing son of Master of my Fate.
