Upcoming Runners – Vaal – Thursday 13th December 2018

We have just the two runners at the Vaal on Thursday 13th December 2018. Seventh Son, victorious in his last start, looks to make it a double. While Deago Deluxe lines up in the same race, hoping to find some of his earlier form. See more here.

Thursday 13 December 2018
Vaal Racecourse

 Race 6 – 14:30
1000m – MR71 Handicap

9 – Seventh Son
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Piere Strydom
Draw: 5
Wgt: 54.0kg
Predicted Odds5/1

Piere Strydom has definitely taken a liking to this horse and has once again retained the ride. He reverts back to the 1000m which he probably prefers, although the 1200m was no major issue for him last time out when winning well. He is up in class here and will be up against a smart son of Sail From Seattle in Royal Cavalier. He looks to be progressive and has some decent form. Seventh Son has a 3kg swing in his favour however, on their run to William The Silent (09/10/2018). That was after finishing 0.65 lengths behind Royal Cavalier and with Seventh Son in peak form, he should be a major danger. We give him another good place chance with a small chance at landing the win double.

Winning Form Comment: Gutsy last triumph, better this trip, 3kg’s better off with 1 on 09/10.

12 – Deago Deluxe
Trainer
: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Jarryd Penny
Draw: 3
Wgt: 52.0kg
Predicted Odds: 33/1

He is also back to his preferred 1000m, however he is up in class and may just struggle in this type of company. We will be hoping to see him running on late for the places, however it may be worth waiting for more improvement before he can be followed with and level of confidence.

Winning Form Comment: Much better than recent form, enjoys the minimum trip.
