Hollywoodbets Scottsville

Race 2 – 12:20
1000m – www.trackandball.co.za Maiden Plate

1 – Chief Officer
Pedigree: Captain Of All – Scholarship by Fanatic Dane
Trainer: Alyson Wright
Jockey: Warren Kennedy
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 1 (17 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 10/1

He faded badly in his last start despite travelling well throughout the race and that was clearly down to him not seeing out the 1400m. Back to the 1000m this time, he has finished runner up in three out of five attempts over this trip and that brings him right into contention here. Piloted by Winning Form sponsored Warren Kennedy this time, he’ll more than likely be prominent throughout the running and should have a useful each way chance.

Winning Form Comment: 3rd run after rest. Gelded 2019.06.10. Best MR:79. Is better suited to this trip. Follow.

Race 4 – 13:30
1200m – Track & Ball KZN Winter Challenge 1200m (Non-Black Type)

12 – Purple Nkanyezi
Pedigree: Oratorio – Bois De Boulogne by Trippi
Trainer: Garth Puller
Jockey: Callan Murray
Wgt: 54.5kg
Draw: 12 (16 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 14/1

She endured a nasty experience in her last start at Hollywoodbets Greyville when being forced into the rail at a crucial stage of the race. As a precautionary measure, jockey Luke Ferraris opted to pull her out of the race and we are thankful that she pulled up fine after the run. Other than getting a big fright, it could’ve been much worse. She now has her Hollywoodbets Scottsville course debut and gets the services of top young rider Callan Murray. With this run being down the straight it should be a nice reintroduction for her and if she finds a smooth passage through, she certainly has the ability to be one of the leading contenders at the business end.

Winning Form Comment: First run at Hollywoodbets Scottsville and can show improvement up the straight.

Race 5 – 14:05
1950m – Track & Ball KZN Winter Challenge (Non-Black Type)

5 – Mighty Smart
Pedigree: Archipenko – Stan’s Smarty Girl by Smarty Jones
Trainer: Paul Lafferty
Jockey: Jason Gates
Wgt: 52.0kg
Draw: 5 (14 Runners)
Predicted Betting: 16/1

He is knocking on the door for a big performance as he strengthens up, following that muscle injury he suffered at the beginning of the year. To compliment his improving form he continues to be treated favourably by the handicapper who has knocked a further 3 points off his rating, after his encouraging last run at Hollywoodbets Greyville. Despite the fact that he takes on tougher opposition here, he lands another plum draw and a light mass to shoulder, and on his best form he can find the first 4.

Winning Form Comment: Dropping to a competitive rating and shoulders a light weight.

Race 6 – 14:40
2400m – Track And Ball Derby (Grade 3)

3 – Seattle Force
Pedigree: Mambo In Seattle – Selkie by Caesour
Trainer: Darryl Moore
Jockey: Stuart Randolph
Wgt: 58.0kg
Draw: 3 (8 Runners)
Current Betting: 20/1

He certainly hasn’t found his best form since making the move to KZN, but when he does he will be a massive runner. All signs are starting to point to the fact that he is at peak fitness and he appears to be very well in himself leading up to this tricky Group 3 feature event. Drawn well this time, he will be looking for the early lead and if all goes to plan we are expecting to see a much improved performance this time. Stuart Randolph retains the ride having done all the work at home and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in the first four places.

Winning Form Comment: Held on his last two runs but respect from a neat draw.
