As a 4-year old he has been lightly raced with just the 5 runs to his name so far and this son of What A Winter now has his second run after a lay-off ,following a solid comeback back in late June. The winner and 4th placed finisher have subsequently won and that suggests a relatively strong form line.
He appears to be in a good place within himself right now and on his work at home he is set to leave the maidens here. Lyle Hewitson picks up the ride and that will give his followers some added confidence. From barrier 1 he’ll have little trouble finding the run of the race and should have a strong each way chance.
Winning Form Comment: 3rd run after rest. Best MR:71. Fair latest behind subsequent winner, big threat.

After 2 solid efforts in handicap company since leaving the maidens, he drops back to a trip where he went very close to winning in his penultimate start. With this being his peak run, he will be cherry ripe for this outing. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but Richard Fourie takes the mount and if he is forced to settle towards the back of the field, the tempo will suit his fast finish. With some luck in running, he should have a decent each way chance.

She was outpaced in that latest effort over the minimum trip and should relish the return to 1200m here. From draw 8, Jarred Samuel will look to sit just off the early speed and her sustained finish should bring her right into contention at the business end. She won her penultimate start over this course and distance and with that comeback run under the belt, she should have a fair place chance if repeating that run.

A lightning fast son of Elusive Fort, he returns to KZN on the back of some very consistent form in Kimberley. From a plum draw, Lyle Hewitson takes the mount and should find himself out in front from the word ‘go’. There is still some uncertainty about how well he will take to this surface and as such, we’ll be satisfied with a top half finish.
