Wednesday 9th January 2019
Greyville Polytrack

Race 10 – 12:35
1000m – Barrier Trial

7 – Painted Black
Trainer: Alyson Wright
Jockey: Jason Gates (-4.0kg)
Wgt: 59.0kg
Draw: 4

This gelding by Noble Tune has started to turn the corner over the spring and we are happy with the way he is going. He has however, taken a while to get to this stage and this run will be used to bring him on further. We will be looking to see him run on in the latter stages and he should benefit hugely from the experience.

Race 3 – 14:25
1400m – Maiden Plate

3 – White Cedar
Trainer: Alyson Wright
Jockey: Stuart Randolph
Wgt: 59.0kg
Draw: 5
Current Betting: 8/1

He has some decent form in the maidens and shouldn’t be one for too much longer. This time he reverts to the poly, where he began his career three runs back and once again receives a handy draw (4). This will allow Stuart Randolph a fair chance at placing him just off the pace in the early stages and on the quicker poly surface we can expect him to be chasing down the front runners late on. Looking at the field, one could predict with a fair amount of certainty that the likes of The Master will set the pace early on and if the pace is good one, White Cedar has a fair winning chance.

Winning Form Comment: Steady formline, may need a set of blinkers but has scope. Include.
