Wednesday 17th July2019
Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack

Race 2 – 12:55
1000m – Maiden Plate (Fillies)

5 – Captain’s Legacy
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Jason Gates (-1.5kg)
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 3(11)
Predicted Betting: 20/1

The blinkers appeared to have drawn a few lengths of improvement out of her last time out, when landing a useful draw around the bend. She now makes her local debut this time around and has picked up another decent draw. Jason Gates retains the ride and if she takes to the poly, she could just find a place at big odds. It would be a speculative place bet at best and we will wait for further improvement before recommending  any wagers on her.

Winning Form Comment: Makes local debut after showing signs of improvement last time. Drawn well and trainers only runner.

Race 5 – 14:40
1400m – MR 64 Handicap

9 – Lauren Of Rochelle
Trainer: Darryl Moore
Jockey: Athandiwe Mgudlwa
Wgt: 56.5kg
Draw: 12(15)
Predicted Betting: 25/1

He has been moderate since landing in the winners box three starts back and may just need to drop a few points in the ratings, before he becomes competitive in this handicap division. The wide draw doesn’t help either, as he has lost his gate speed and will probably have to be dropped out at the start. This run is being used to get him going again, after a 9 week absence from the course and as such we give him a place chance at best.

Winning Form Comment: Drawn wide. May need to drop in MR.

Race 6 – 15:15
1000m – MR 72 Handicap

1 – Travelling Light
Trainer: Garth Puller
Jockey: Lyle Hewitson
Wgt: 61.0kg
Draw: 8(11)

She took a bump at the start last time out, when stepping up to Gr1 company in just her second start. Unfortunately, she barely raised a gallop thereafter and as such we have put a line through that run. She showed some eye-catching speed on her debut and duly blitzed the field in eye-catching fashion. She now takes on older fillies and mares on her handicap debut and although landing a tricky draw, she has plenty of gate speed. She gets the services of Lyle Hewitson this time out and the jockey booking should suit her down to the ground. We still believe she has bigger fish to fry and thus give her a good winning chance.

Winning Form Comment: Much better than last run. Makes handicap debut, with top weight against older.
