He has been knocking on the door since arriving in PE and it seems that luck in running has just alluded him. He is doing superbly well at home and he looks a picture. If there is a decent pace on and he is able to find a good early position, he will be running on strongly and should just about win this. He has an ideal galloping weight on his back and he’ll be right there in the finish.

Winning Form Comment: Improved latest behind 3 & 5 and faces them on better weight terms.

Wednesday 1st May 2019
Greyville Poly Track

Race 5 – 15:20
1400m – MR 64 Handicap

10 – Lauren of Rochelle
Trainer: Darryl Moore
Jockey: Stuart Randolph
Wgt: 56.5kg
Draw: 5(15)
Predicted Betting: 10/1

He has been doing well since arriving in the province and put up some smart work in the last week, leading up to this race. He has clearly taken a liking to this surface and he gets another decent draw today, having only received a small penalty for that win last time out over the C&D. With that said, he should be right there again.

Winning Form Comment: Only hit with a three pound penalty.

Thursday 2nd May 2019
Vaal Turf

Race 1 – 12:15
1100m – Maiden Juvenile Plate

13 – Syx Shooter
Trainer: Clinton Bind
Jockey: Kabelo Matsunyane (-2.5kg)
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 3(18)
Predicted Betting: 25/1

He has shown plenty of speed in all three of his runs to date and it appears that the penny has started to drop. As such, we are expecting him to start showing some improvement and he should go a lot closer today.

Winning Form Comment: Has the advantage of having some racing experience and still has scope.

Race 2 – 12:50
1100m – Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies)

1 – Blessed Rain
Trainer: Stuart Pettigrew
Jockey: Diego De Gouveia
Wgt: 60.0kg
Draw: 1(16)
Predicted Betting: 16/1

She was disappointing in her latest effort, when feeling the effects of a virus that was only established immediately after that run and she is clearly a lot better than that. She has put up some very exciting work in the last week and we expect to see her reproduce the ability she showed in her debut effort and with that in mind, she should go very close to winning this.

Winning Form Comment: Poor latest when experienced a setback, but chance on promising debut run.

Race 5 – 14:35
2000m – MR 84 Handicap

7 – Seattle Force
Trainer: Stuart Pettigrew
Jockey: Diego De Gouveia
Wgt: 55.5kg
Draw: 6(7)
Predicted Betting: 10/1

He has become a different horse since arriving in the province and he has progressed even further since that impressive last victory. On the weight turn around in his penultimate start, he should finish in front of the 1 & 2 and if that’s the case, he looks hard to oppose.

Winning Form Comment: Two good runs since changing stables, can follow up.

Race 9 – 16:55
1100m – MR 68 Handicap

16 – Seventh Son
Trainer: Clinton Binda
Jockey: Calvin Habib
Wgt: 53.0kg
Draw: 18(18)
Predicted Betting: 16/1

He is starting to look more and more competitive as he drops further in the ratings and he now has a useful galloping weight to shoulder, in this tricky looking handicap. He looks well suited to the 1100m and with his good early speed, he should be right there.

Winning Form Comment: Moderate form but chance if utilizes early pace.
