UPDATES – Purple Powahouse

September 10th, 2019
Purple Powahouse had a grass gallop this morning, in preparation for his debut run which is imminent. Here he is seen on the far side, doing his work with another son of What A Winter – in the form of Agent Murphy.

Given his new name by the Hollywoodbets Marketing team, it was great to have the team join us for a visit to Summerveld Training Centre this morning. The team were able to see this son of What A Winter up close and watch him work. He clearly enjoyed the attention and behaved like an absolute gentleman around the team. We are looking forward to his debut in a few weeks, where he is sure to have a big following on course.

He has shown a lot of promise in his prep so far. He ran 2nd in his barrier trial a few weeks ago and went a little shin-sore thereafter, but shook that off within a few days. He is coming along very nicely and we expect him to progress quickly after his debut. See a replay of that Barrier Trial below.

He has done very well during the spring and has matured into the young two year old colt we were hoping for. He had a grass gallop this morning and went about his business nice and relaxed (see clip below). He is on the grass, the horse closest to the camera.

Another smart young What a Winter colt, he is slightly immature in comparison to Agent Murphy but what he lacks in size he makes up for in the way he moves. He won’t be small, he is just taking more time.

At this stage of his track work, he hasn’t been paired up with a companion to work alongside him as he has a very competitive nature.

He is a great mover however and once he learns to settle he will be a nice horse.
