Another one bred by Hemel ‘n Aarde, by the exciting young stallion What A Winter. She is the first foal out of the Dynasty mare, Upon A Dream.

Other notable offspring from this family include GREEK WARRIOR – a 9 time winner including the Senor Santa handicap (Gr2), LITTLE BALLERINA – winner of the Argus Guineas (Gr1), TROJAN BELLE – a 7 time winner including the Majorca Stakes (Gr2) and BURAN – winner of the Umkhomazi Stakes (Gr2).

Stable Placement:
She is a very racy filly who despite looking like an early type who should get 1200m – 1600m, has taken a bit more time. She was hand picked by Kevin and Alyson Wright, but has since been moved to Darryl Moore who showed a keen interest in training her.

We look forward to watching her mature into a exciting filly.

Updates – Nordic Winter

NORDIC WINTER was retired by the Hollywood Syndicate on the 12th March 2020. She was unraced.

She was very green in running, when stepping out for her barrier trial today. Slow out the stalls, it took her a while to realise what it was all about and the run would’ve been a great educational experience for her. Pictured below in her canter past.

This filly has had quite an interrupted preparation so far, with the latest being a bout of Biliary. She seems to be over that now and is starting to really turn the corner. We estimate another 4-6 weeks on the spelling farm before this 3-year-old daughter of What A Winter moves into the more intense stage of her career. Below is a photo of her getting hosed down after her morning work.

She has struggled in her prep so far. It is clear that she is going to need time on her side and she will get as much time as she needs to get back on track. She is still very immature, but she still has plenty of scope to turn into a smart young filly.
